About Food and Kids

For those of you bringing kids, here's some details for you:
  • While our reception doesn't have enough seating for everyone to sit down at once, we do have a room set aside on the main floor with tables for familes, so look for that when you get there.  It seats 40 which should be enough for all those with children to sit down with them and get them fed. :)
  • The kids food that will be in that room will be pizza, veggies and fruit, with fruit juice and soda for drinks.  You are welcome to bring in any additional food for your children if you desire.
  • If anybody is traveling with children but would prefer to find a babysitter rather than bring them to the reception, we can assist you in locating one.  Just let us know.
  • When we get a chance we'll post the menu for the adults so you guys have some idea what you are in for with this "hearty hors doeuvres" reception :)- our goal is that, although we don't have room for a seated dinner, that everybody will be well fed and not require any separate meal.

Our Talented Family Members

We are getting considerable help with this wedding from several talented members of the family and wanted to acknowledge a few of them.

Karen and Stefan- Mike's sister and brother-in-law are designing, printing, and sending out our wedding invitations for us, as well as our other wedding stationary needs.  We can't wait for you to see the beautiful job they did for us. Stefan is the designer for Words by Design, (http://www.wordsbydesigncreative.com), a full service writing, web and graphic design company.

Christina-  Anya's sister-in-law is baking our wedding cake.  Those on Anya's side of the family who have sampled her work in the past know that she is more than up to the task!  She even did a tasting for us in Madison with two mini wedding cakes in different flavors with different patterns of icing.

Jennifer- Anya's cousin is making the bride's wedding veil, long-distance from Valparaiso, Indiana.  It means a lot to have a family member making this special wedding day accessory.

Dan and Sue- Mike's mother is helping create the wedding floral centerpieces, and planning to make the ring bearer pillow from pieces of her wedding dress.  She and Dan are also planning to host the rehearsal dinner from their home and do much of the cooking themselves; if you've ever had a meal at their house you know it will be great!

Please Send Us Your Photos!

We'd like to collect fun pictures of us with our friends and family over the years to put into a slideshow to show above the bar. If you have a photo (or several!) to contribute, the easiest way to get it to us is to scan it and email it our way (you can email Anya at anyamilhans@gmail.com or Mike at mycleanow@gmail.com). Otherwise, getting a "hard copy" to us personally or to one of our parents works too.

We also wanted to use wedding photos from our family and friends for decorations. If you are willing, please send us a copy of a photo from your wedding, along with the year of the wedding (we'll put this on the back for a guessing game).

Wedding Day Schedule and Reception Details

Here's the tentative plan for the day of the wedding:

4:30pm - Ceremony at First Unitarian Society
5:30pm-11:30pm - Reception at The Brink Lounge

Our reception is in a space that is too small for a sit down meal, so we opted for a cocktail reception. However we still have enough food planned to take the place of dinner. There will be two large buffet tables of cheeses, breads, veggies, dips, and a variety of fun "small plates" throughout the evening such as beef tenderloin canapes, handheld salads in edible cups, fruit skewers and shot glasses of soup!

We will also have some kid friendly foods in the "family room" with more tables for feeding the young ones. And we plan to have a few tables reserved out near the dance floor for our grandparents so they do not have to stand.
